Joanna Coleman alias keinponny deals with glitch phenomena, interference signals, random systems and sensory overload. Their artistic work revolves around the investigation of systems in their potential for transmediality – using noise, distortion, drones and feedback as well as rhythms of rave, trance and neo-gabber to create powerful sonic situations. As neoliberal commodification pressures us to judge everything by its (surplus) value, keinponny strives for symbolic resistance by hacking machines and structures. They (oder she?) consciously initiate sensory overloads that provide a meditative state of calmness in the eye of the hurricane, that enable listeners to take a break from the hypercapitalistic invocations and jabbering, through deep listening and/ or energetic dancing. I am coming from a background of underground rave and core where I have been an active member of the scene since 2004 – mainly as a visual designer & VJ artist. Through that background of visual improvisation I started making music in 2002 (das macht jetzt wenig sinn, ein tippfehler? 2012?), where I discovered the joy of composing music myself – and my love to extreme music. Joanna ColemanChristian Ludwig Die AV Performance der Medienkünstler*innen Joanna Coleman und Christian Ludwig hinterfragt, inwieweit in der Flut von Social Media Content und der Allgegenwärtigkeit von Kameras Individualität belohnt oder doch vielmehr durch Algorithmisierung und Verdurchschnittlichung zur Konformität gedrängt wird. Das Publikum wird mit einer audiovisuellen Live-Collage von Media Content konfrontiert, die vorwiegend aus Animationen und SlowMotion Aufnahmen aus dem Archiv der beiden Künstler*innen besteht, sowie langsam abgespielte Apology Videos gecancelter Social Media Akteur*innen. Entkoppelt von ihren jeweiligen Geschichten werden diese zu einer ephemeren Aneinanderreihung von Gefühlen und Stimmungen transformiert. Dabei entsteht eine kontemplativ-hypnotische Sound- und Videokomposition, die eine Illusion emotionaler Tiefe enstehen lässt.
