“With my solo persona keinponny I am exploring the realms of live sound composition, collaboration and multisensory overload. I am coming from a background of underground rave and core where I have been an active member of the scene since 2004 – mainly as a visual designer & VJ artist. Through that background of visual improvisation I started making music in 2020, where I discovered the joy of composing myself – and my love to extreme music. Listening habits are challenged but at the same time it is fun, danceable and hardcore!”

Joanna Coleman alias keinponny deals with glitch phenomena, interference signals, random systems and sensory overload. Their artistic work revolves around the investigation of systems in their potential for transmediality – using noise, distortion, drones and feedback as well as rhythms of rave, trance and neo-gabber to create powerful sonic situations. As neoliberal commodification pressures us to judge everything by its (surplus) value, keinponny strives for symbolic resistance by hacking machines and structures. They consciously initiate sensory overloads that provide a meditative state of calmness in the eye of the hurricane, that enable listeners to take a break from the hypercapitalistic invocations and jabbering, through deep listening and/ or energetic dancing.

Joanna Coleman alias keinponny ist Live Soundkünstlerin und Komponistin im Bereich Techno, Trance und Neo-Gabber. Sie untersucht elektronische Systeme auf Störfaktoren und verfremdet menschliche Signale, die sie zu tanzbaren, energetischen Live-Sets verwebt. Oder zu Post-Club-Drone-Landschaften und Noise-Feedback-Winden, die stürmisch werden können.
In den letzten Jahren hatte sie zahlreiche Live Auftritte u.a. Struma + Iodine, SONIC TERRITORIES, ROTOR im Künstlerhaus, v.elak Gala oder Weibel Institute for Digital Cultures.
